A Brief History of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver

In March, 1919, ten local real estate brokers became the first subscribers to the Vancouver Real Estate Exchange Ltd. In 1948 the Exchange was renamed to the Vancouver Real Estate Board, and in the mid 1970s it was given it's current name - the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.

Since then, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver has grown to 9,000 members. We:

• are the second largest real estate board in Canada
• are the largest Board in British Columbia comprising over 50 per cent of the BC Real Estate Association membership
• have operated continuously since 1919
• pioneered the first MLS listing service in Canada
