Realtors golf for Canuck Place

VANCOUVER, B.C. - Not even the cold, wet weather could keep local Realtors from golfing for charity last month. The Burnaby/New Westminster/Tri-Cities division of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver raised $2,000 for Canuck Place, Canada's only hospice for terminally ill children and their families, at its annual golf tournament in Burnaby.

"Canuck Place is a very worthwhile cause," says division president Don Mackay. "Our ongoing fundraising efforts will assist the hospice to provide the physical, spiritual and emotional support families need during their stay."

To date, the Realtors Care fundraising team has raised $200,000 for the Hollyburn Suite at Canuck Place, fulfilling 80 per cent of its original $250,000 commitment. Thanks to Realtor donations over the last four years, more than 260 children and their families have benefited from a continuum of care that includes respite, end-of-life and bereavement support for the loss of a loved one.

Their financial contribution to Canuck Place is just one example of how much Realtors really do care.

The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver is an association of Realtors committed to providing its members with the services to ensure a high standard of business practices and ethics, and to effectively serve the real estate needs of the community. There are approximately 7,900 Realtor members throughout Greater Vancouver who volunteer their time and energy to improve the well being of their communities.
