Wednesday, July 7, 1999 Realtors raise $3,000 for the Sunny Hill Children's HospitalVANCOUVER, B.C. - More than 200 Vancouver Realtors raised $3,000 for the kids at the Sunny Hill Hospital in East Vancouver last month. The silent auction, dinner and dance hosted by the Eastside and Westside divisions of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, was held at Floata Chinese Seafood restaurant in Chinatown. After a delicious 10-course dinner, magic show and flashy ballroom dance demonstration, Realtors purchased 50/50 draw tickets and donated half the draw's proceeds to the fundraising effort. "The Sunny Hill Center for Children offers a diverse range of programs," says event co-chair, Robert Ning. "The center plays a critical health care role for disabled children in the community and Vancouver Realtors were happy to contribute to such a valuable cause." Located on Slocan Street in East Vancouver, the Sunny Hill Foundation for Children provides an extensive range of specialized, rehabilitative services for children suffering from major disabilities. Sunny Hill assists more than 4,000 children each year from approximately 265 communities throughout B.C. The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver is an association of Realtors committed to providing its members with the services to ensure a high standard of business practices and ethics, and to effectively serve the real estate needs of the community. There are approximately 7,900 Realtor members throughout Greater Vancouver who volunteer their time and energy to improve the well being of their communities. |
